Graphics Specialist

Blue Labelโ€™s Graphicโ€™s team is a vital element in our process. Success in digital printing requires focusing on the fine details and that is at the center of the Graphics Specialistโ€™s day-to-day work. The Graphics team works closely with Production Planning and our Account Managers to meet the needs of Blue Labelโ€™s customers.

The Graphics Specialist takes the customerโ€™s artwork and makes sure it conforms to the production details to create a digital proof to send to press. Itโ€™s the Graphics Specialistโ€™s attention to detail that results in the vision of Blue Labelโ€™s customers being fulfilled.

(Note: This is not a Graphic Design role. We work with artwork that has already been designed by the customer or another entity.)


Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • As a Graphics Specialist, you receive and review all customer artwork to ensure it meets our required production specifications.
  • Utilizing software such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, you will make any necessary changes to artwork files to get them ready for print.
  • You will create digital proofs for labels that are sent to Account Managers for customer approval.
  • You ensure art files are ready for production by checking impositions and color adjustments and providing quality control to other Graphics Specialists by double checking their digital proofs.
  • When proofs are finalized, you send them to press using Blue Label software and systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • You are a proficient user in Adobe suite software including โ€“ InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • You value teamwork, but can thrive in and independent setting with minimal supervision
  • You have an extreme eye for details and are a creative problem solver who thinks outside of the box for solutions
  • You possess excellent communication skills as well as the ability to understand instructions
  • You are very comfortable with basic computer software such as Office suite and other web-based applications

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent (Required)
  • Previous Graphic Design, Graphic Art or similar experience is strongly preferred
Graphics Specialist Schedule Information

  • Full-time, non-exempt (Hourly)
  • Monday โ€“ Friday
  • 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime as business needs warrant


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak, hear and comprehend. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms on a daily basis. The employee must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.
