Required Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months of recent and verifiable commercial lawn maintenance experience or experience operating heavy machinery and tools
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is required to drive College vehicles when necessary
  • Candidate must have their own transportation to report to other college campuses as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mows, cuts, trims, edges, weeds and maintains College grounds. Operates lift/bucket truck to trim trees up to 30’. Performs other landscaping tasks as directed.
  • Operates blower to clear debris from sidewalks, parking lots and other areas.
  • Maintains plants by weeding and spraying with pesticides and fertilizers. Plants shrubbery, trees, and flowers. Prunes and trims trees and shrubbery.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting all of the time, exerting at least 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis.
  • Must be able to be exposed to outdoor temperatures, hot and cold.
  • Must be able to follow oral/written communications.
  • Must have computer knowledge to be able to clock in/clock out, and view personnel related information (paycheck, W-2, etc.)
