Position Summary:
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations of the holding company and its subsidiaries. This includes ensuring compliance with UAE laws, IFRS standards, and internal policies, as well as leading financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, and audit functions. The role requires a high level of analytical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple business entities under the group.
Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Supervise daily accounting operations and ensure timely posting of all financial transactions.
 - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
 - Consolidate group financial reports across multiple subsidiaries and business units.
 - Ensure accuracy of general ledger, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
 - Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
 
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
 - Provide variance analysis and recommendations to management for cost control and performance improvement.
 - Support business units in financial planning and monitoring of key financial KPIs.
 
3. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, corporate governance standards, and group policies.
 - Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
 - Manage internal audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
 - Oversee VAT filings, ESR (Economic Substance Regulations), and corporate tax compliance as per UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements.
 
4. Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
 - Supervise bank reconciliations and maintain relationships with banks.
 - Support management in investment decisions and capital allocation across group companies.
 
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and internal controls.
 - Streamline financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.
 - Support ERP implementation, integration, and data integrity across subsidiaries.
 
6. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor accounting team members across the group.
 - Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
 - Ensure proper delegation, review, and professional development of staff.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
 - Preferred: CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA certification.
 - Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or Chief Accountant role, ideally within a holding/group company structure in the UAE or GCC.
 - Strong understanding of IFRS, UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and Economic Substance Regulations (ESR).
 - Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Tally Prime).
 - Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
 - Fluency in English required; Arabic is an advantage.
