About the Role

The Group Procurement Manager will function as a strategic thinker and independent operator, responsible for driving high-impact procurement initiatives across RSA Group. This role requires a professional capable of operating with minimal supervision, exercising strong commercial judgment, and proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization, vendor governance, and risk mitigation.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement Leadership
  • Independently drive group-wide strategic procurement initiatives.
  • Identify cost optimization, consolidation, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Lead high-value negotiations across key categories including Insurance programs, Outsourcing / contractor agreements, IT & technology procurement, Labor accommodation & workforce services, and Common logistics inputs.


Commercial & Analytical Ownership

  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking across procurement categories.
  • Evaluate commercial structures, pricing models, and vendor proposals.
  • Proactively recommend cost-efficiency strategies to management.


Independent Value Creation

  • Actively identify procurement savings opportunities without reliance on instruction.
  • Challenge existing vendor arrangements where commercially justified.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement economics.


Vendor Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain vendor governance frameworks.
  • Maintain strategic vendor relationships at a senior level.
  • Conduct surprise vendor audits / commercial checks.


Strategic Risk & Group Sensitivity

  • Independently evaluate vendor dependencies and procurement risks.
  • Anticipate procurement-related exposures affecting the group.
  • Support preparedness for group-wide strategic events.


Business Unit Influence & Alignment

  • Work collaboratively with BU procurement teams while maintaining independent judgment.
  • Provide strategic direction, governance guidance, and negotiation leadership.


Budgetary & Financial Discipline

  • Monitor CAPEX-related procurement budgets.
  • Ensure commercial decisions align with financial objectives.


Procurement Governance & Control

  • Establish discipline in Purchase Requisition (PR) workflows and Purchase Order (PO) controls.
  • Prevent uncontrolled / maverick spending.


Reporting & Decision Support

  • Deliver structured reporting: Daily – Key commercial developments; Weekly – Spend & savings tracking; Monthly – Spend analytics, savings, vendor & risk insights.

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years in procurement / strategic sourcing.
  • Experience in multi-entity / group environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and cost initiatives.
