We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead the development of our Pakistan regulatory and governance framework in alignment with SECP, SBP, and FATF standards.

Role Overview

The Head of Compliance will design, implement, and manage Aqovia’s compliance strategy for its fintech and digital asset operations in Pakistan. This includes ensuring adherence to local regulatory frameworks, managing risk, and creating a culture of transparency, ethics, and governance across all business units.

This is a senior strategic role that works closely with executive leadership to align Aqovia’s operations with Pakistan’s financial and digital compliance requirements, while preparing the company for future licensing and regulatory engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive compliance and governance framework align (SBP, SECP, and FATF guidelines).
  • Oversee AML/CFT programs, including ongoing monitoring, suspicious transaction reporting, and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Payment Service Provider (PSP), Payment System Operator (PSO), and other fintech-related regulations.
  • Advise leadership on compliance implications for new digital asset products, tokenisation initiatives, and AI/data-driven fintech solutions.
  • Liaise with local regulatory authorities and manage submissions, audits, and policy reviews.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in Pakistan’s fintech, banking, and digital asset landscape, and proactively update internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the operational teams to maintain a strong culture of compliance, ethical conduct, and transparent governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or Compliance, professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, CCO) are strongly preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of compliance or risk management experience in fintech, banking, or regulated financial services.
  • Strong understanding of SECP, SBP, and FATF frameworks
  • Proven track record in building compliance functions and managing regulatory relationships in a dynamic and high-growth environment.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels and across jurisdictions.
