Assistant Manager – Tax

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Tax to support our finance and tax team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tax compliance, preparing tax returns, ensuring timely payments, and assisting in tax planning and advisory. This role requires strong knowledge of direct & indirect taxation, SAP B1 (preferred), and regulatory frameworks in Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Filings

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (Income Tax, Sales Tax, WHT, etc.).
• Ensure timely submission of all tax-related documents and payments to FBR and other regulatory authorities.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and inspections.

Tax Planning & Advisory

• Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
• Provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Keep management updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Reporting & Reconciliation

• Reconcile tax balances in financial statements with SAP B1.
• Monitor input/output tax adjustments and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Support the preparation of tax provisions and disclosures in financial reporting.

Coordination & Audit

• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Support internal and external tax audits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with accounts and finance teams for smooth data flow and accurate reporting.

Requirements:

• Qualification: ACCA, CA Inter, MBA (Finance), M.Com, or equivalent.
• Experience: 3–5 years in taxation (corporate/industry experience preferred).
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in SAP B1 (mandatory/preferred) and MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, and Withholding tax rules.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
