Head of Design

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Head of Design with at least 7 years of experience in GCC countries to lead architectural design, manage projects from concept to execution, and ensure design quality, compliance, and innovation. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership

• Lead the architectural design process from concept, schematic, and detailed design to execution.
• Ensure design solutions are functional, innovative, and aligned with client requirements.
• Oversee and mentor junior architects and design staff.

2. Project Management & Coordination

• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent is maintained.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

3. Technical Expertise

• Prepare and review architectural drawings, presentations, and models.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and GCC authority requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on materials, finishes, and construction methods.

4. Documentation & Quality Control

• Maintain accurate design documentation and drawings.
• Conduct design reviews and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure design standards are maintained.

5. Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Present design proposals and updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Address technical queries and provide design clarifications as needed.
• Foster strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction with design outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in GCC countries on commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D modeling, and design visualization tools (SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Suite).
• Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Candidate is willing to travel outside UAE for project site visit.
