Head of Legal

About the Role:

One of our Karachi based clients is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Head of Legal with a background in Law and extensive exposure to property-related legal matters. This role demands a strategic leader who ensures legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance across the organization, while leading internal audit functions with a sharp focus on governance, risk management, and litigation oversight.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in handling legal and compliance matters, specifically related to property and real estate.
• Strong understanding of internal audit processes, corporate governance, and legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enforce Legal Compliance and Regulatory Adherence across all departments.
• Identify, assess, and report the Number of Legal Issues affecting the organization.
• Ensure Contract Compliance and the Percentage of Standardized Contracts Used remains optimal.
• Monitor Regulatory Compliance in alignment with local and federal laws.
• Lead internal audits focused on Board Compliance Rate and legal documentation accuracy.
• Manage Litigation and Dispute Resolution, including tracking Case Win Rate and legal performance.
• Oversee Legal Budget Adherence ensuring cost-effective legal operations.
• Improve Document Management and Accuracy, especially for contracts and legal records.
• Serve as the compliance lead on all property transactions, land acquisitions, and development projects.
