Head of Oil and Gas Operations

Is responsible for leading day-to-day operational performance across oil and gas assets, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all activities. The role typically oversees operations teams, coordinates with technical, HSE, maintenance, and project functions, and drives continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operational planning and execution across assigned oil and gas facilities or projects.
• Ensure production targets, uptime, and operational KPIs are met.
• Manage budgets, cost control, and resource allocation to support efficient operations.
• Oversee HSE, process safety, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Support business development, client liaison, and stakeholder coordination where required.
• Drive process optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure emergency preparedness and response readiness across operations.

Required Experience

• 15+ years of experience in oil and gas operations or related leadership roles is common for this level.
• Strong background in operations management, production, maintenance, or offshore/onshore facility leadership.
• Proven experience managing teams, contractors, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Deep knowledge of safety standards, statutory compliance, and operational risk management.
• Experience in Qatar or the GCC region is often preferred for senior operational roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Petroleum, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or MBA can be an advantage for director-level roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with oil and gas operations excellence, process safety, and KPI frameworks.
• Experience with both technical and commercial aspects of operations.

Pay: QAR150.00 - QAR400.00 per hour
