Head of Operations

fintech organization is seeking a highly experienced Head of Remittance Operations to oversee and optimize the full operational lifecycle of its cross‑border remittance services. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless, secure, compliant, and cost‑efficient remittance operations across multiple corridors while driving continuous process improvement and operational excellence.

This strategic leadership position will play a central role in enhancing customer experience, strengthening FX and liquidity controls, managing partners and vendors, and ensuring operational compliance within a fast‑growing digital financial services environment.


Role Purpose:

The Head of Remittance Operations will lead, streamline, and scale end‑to‑end remittance operations, including transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, FX and liquidity management, customer support, partner engagement, and operational risk controls. The role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery across all remittance touchpoints.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement a robust operational strategy for international remittance services.
  • Translate organizational objectives into aligned operational plans.
  • Continuously refine operational policies to maintain compliance with local and global remittance regulations.

2. Cross‑Border Transaction Processing & Reconciliation

  • Oversee daily processing of high‑volume remittance transactions, ensuring speed, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Implement strong multi‑currency reconciliation processes for settlements and partner payouts.
  • Collaborate with Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless fund flows.

3. FX & Liquidity Management

  • Work with Treasury/Finance on FX rate management and liquidity forecasting.
  • Implement operational controls to minimize currency risk.
  • Optimize funding processes across multiple remittance corridors.

4. Customer Service & Support

  • Oversee customer support operations to ensure timely and consistent service levels.
  • Introduce self‑service tools and digital support solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Integrate customer insights into operational enhancements.

5. Partner & Vendor Management

  • Manage partnerships with banks, payment aggregators, and remittance networks.
  • Define and monitor SLAs with vendors and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Procurement on contract reviews and negotiations.

6. Operational Risk & Compliance Coordination

  • Work with Compliance, Risk, and AML/CFT teams to ensure full regulatory alignment.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks related to cross‑border transactions.

7. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop high‑performing operational teams across geographies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive collaboration across departments to ensure unified performance.


Qualifications & Experience :

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management , or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Operations Management , or related areas are preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in operations, preferably in remittance, fintech, or financial services .
  • Strong experience in high‑volume cross‑border remittance operations.
  • Expertise in FX, reconciliations, vendor management, and operational risk controls.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, multi‑region teams.
