Job Description

The Head of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for leading and optimizing the comprehensive supply chain function within a Special Purpose Machine (SPM) manufacturing organization. This role encompasses both strategic and operational management of procurement, inventory, logistics, vendor development, and planning, ensuring the timely and cost-effective production and delivery of SPMs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies that align with the company’s objectives and production goals.
  • Lead the procurement process for mechanical, electrical, and automation components specific to SPM manufacturing.
  • Oversee the identification, qualification, and performance evaluation of vendors to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.
  • Establish efficient inventory control systems and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent production delays and surplus inventory.
  • Collaborate closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure a seamless workflow and timely dispatch of machines.
  • Execute cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, process enhancements, and value engineering.
  • Drive digital transformation within the supply chain by utilizing ERP/MRP tools to enhance visibility and planning accuracy.
  • Manage both inbound and outbound logistics to ensure compliance with domestic and export regulations.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing supply chain team, emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct data analyses to forecast material requirements and mitigate supply risks.

Qualifications and Experience

a. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering is required, with a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations preferred.

b. A minimum of 18 to 25 years of experience in supply chain roles is essential, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position within an SPM or capital equipment manufacturing environment.

c. Strong expertise in procurement, production planning, materials management, and logistics operations is necessary.

d. Proficiency with ERP systems is required.

e. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic supply chain initiatives effectively.
