Health and Safety Officer / Engineer

The HSE Officer/ Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems on sewerage and deep line infrastructure projects. The role ensures compliance with UAE legislation, TAQA WS standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
• Monitor site activities for compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, especially for sewerage and deep excavation works.
• Ensure all work permits (confined space, hot works, excavation) are properly managed and complied with.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare corrective/preventive action reports.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training for staff and laborers.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times.
• Liaise with TAQA WS representatives and government authorities to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly HSE reports to management.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the project.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
• NEBOSH IGC / OSHA certification (mandatory).
• Minimum 5–7 years of HSE experience in infrastructure and buildings, with at least 3 years in sewerage and deep line works.
• Strong knowledge of confined space entry, excavation safety, and sewerage utility construction.
• Familiarity with UAE HSE laws, TAQA WS regulations, and international safety standards.
• TAQA WS approval preferred (highly advantageous).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and lead site safety initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
