The Heavy Vehicles Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, construction vehicles, and other machinery. The role requires strong technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and working efficiently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy vehicles.
- Have Experience with Construction Equipment such Excavator, Cranes, Generator (Minimum 5 Years)
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
- DC Electric knowledge is preferred (Not mandatory)
- Identify and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, clutches, axles, and differentials.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure all repairs comply with industry and company standards.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagnostic reports.
- Operate diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Maintain records of all repairs, parts used, and services performed.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and maintenance staff to optimize efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience using diagnostic tools and software.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid UAE driving license (preferred but not mandatory).
Preferred Experience:
- Hydraulic Knowledge is preferred
- Experience working with brands like Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, MAN, or Caterpillar (if applicable).
- Previous work experience in construction, transportation, or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and fleet management.
