Job Summary:

The Help Desk Operator for Electromechanical Maintenance acts as the first point of contact for all maintenance-related inquiries, work requests, and incident reports. This role supports technicians and engineers by coordinating maintenance activities, tracking work orders, and ensuring timely communication between departments. The operator is responsible for efficiently logging, dispatching, and monitoring service requests related to electrical and mechanical systems, machinery, and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, log, and prioritize incoming maintenance requests (phone, email, system-based).
  • Assign work orders to appropriate electromechanical technicians based on urgency and availability.
  • Monitor the progress of work orders and provide updates to requesters.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Provide technical support by referencing manuals or past service records where applicable.
  • Escalate complex or critical issues to the appropriate engineering or supervisory staff.
  • Track inventory and notify procurement of required spare parts and materials.
  • Assist in generating daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activity reports.
  • Support compliance with safety regulations and maintenance procedures.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or coursework in electromechanics is a plus.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a maintenance help desk, dispatch, or technical support role.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical systems, such as HVAC, pumps, motors, PLCs, and building systems.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical terminology and systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance workflows and KPIs (e.g., MTTR, MTBF).
  • Certification in maintenance management or technical support (e.g., CMRP, ITIL) is an asset.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
