Helper/Labor

Job Purpose:

The Helper/Labor supports transport and logistics operations by assisting drivers, loading/unloading goods, performing basic vehicle checks, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth fleet operations for heavy vehicles. The role supports daily operations and ensures compliance with safety standards.

Operational Support:

• Assist in loading and unloading cargo from heavy trucks using manual methods or equipment like dollies and pallet jacks.
• Perform basic manual work such as lifting, moving, and arranging goods.
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading goods, spare parts, or materials safely.
• Support drivers in guiding heavy vehicles during parking, reversing, or difficult maneuvers.
• Help drivers navigate routes and communicate with dispatchers and customers.
• Pad, stack, and secure items in the truck to prevent damage during transit.
• Deliver and stack merchandise at customer locations and obtain receipts or payments when required.
• Report any incidents, damages, or irregularities to the supervisor immediately.
• Vehicle & Cargo Handling:
• Maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicles.
• Perform basic checks on cargo and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Assist in setting up conveyor systems or unloading equipment if applicable.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols related to lifting, handling hazardous materials, and working in various weather conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transport regulations.
• Wear appropriate safety gear and ensure cargo is secured according to company standards.
