Looking for candiates have experience in a specialized area for patients needing a higher level of care than a general ward but not as intensive as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU.

Job Description:

• Assessing the condition of patients regularly, monitoring vital signs, symptoms, and any changes in their health status. Ensuring that patients are stable and responding promptly to any concerns.
• Administering medications, including intravenous (IV) medications
• Managing and maintaining IV lines, including inserting IV catheters and monitoring IV fluids
• Providing patients and their families with information about their condition, treatment options, and self-care. Helping patients understand their treatment plans and what to expect during their stay.
• Wound assessment and dressing changes, and following infection control protocols to prevent complications
• Using and monitoring essential medical equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documenting patient assessments, interventions, medications administered, and any changes in the patient's condition
• Working closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, and dietitians to provide comprehensive care for patients
• Carrying out life-saving care, including CPR, and coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilise the patient
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families, and offering reassurance, comfort, and empathy to patients coping with the stress of their medical condition
• Keeping up with advancements in healthcare and attending regular training sessions to maintain nursing skills and knowledge
