Home Textile Merchandiser

Job Summary:

The Home Textile Merchandiser is responsible for managing product development, buyer communication, order execution, and production coordination for home textile items such as bed linen, curtains, towels, cushions, and other household fabrics. The role ensures timely delivery of quality products in line with customer specifications and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

l Product Development & Sampling

l Coordinate with design and product development teams to create new collections and samples.

l Understand buyer requirements and translate them into development briefs.

l Source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories for sampling.

l Handle buyer inquiries, quotations, and order confirmations.

l Maintain effective communication regarding product specs, lead times, and shipment schedules.

l Prepare internal order sheets and coordinate with production, procurement, and quality control teams.

l Resolve any issues related to delays, rejections, or quality deviations.

l Prepare cost sheets, price quotations, and profitability analysis.

l Identify cost-saving opportunities in materials and processes.

l Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure product quality meets buyer standards.

l Monitor lab dips, pre-production samples, and bulk approvals.

l Coordinate with logistics for timely shipment and documentation (packing list, invoice, B/L, etc.).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· On-time delivery performance (% of orders shipped on schedule).

· Sample approval turnaround time.

· Order accuracy (quality claims, rejections, or complaints).

· Cost control and margin achievement.

Skills & Competencies:

· Strong communication and negotiation skills.

· Sound understanding of textile fabrics, weaving, printing, dyeing, and finishing processes.

· Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.

Qualification & Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or related field.

· 3–5 years of merchandising experience in home textiles or related industry.
