We Are Hiring: Hospital Data Collection and Reporting Analyst

Nauru Medical Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Collection and Reporting Analyst to join our healthcare team. The Data Collection and Reporting Analyst is responsible for gathering, validating, analyzing, and reporting operational and financial data from multiple hospital systems. This role supports the Operations, Statistical and other administrative departments by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare operations or healthcare revenue cycle, with advanced Excel skills, and a keen eye for detail and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and validate data from various hospital systems, including electronic health records (EHR), billing, scheduling, platforms.
  • Collect, clean, and validate clinical operational, and data from HIS, EMR, LIS, and ERP systems.
  • Analyze trends in admissions, discharges, bed occupancy, length of stay (LOS), outpatient visits, surgical volumes, and resource utilization.
  • Conduct statistical and predictive analysis to support performance management initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad-hoc reports to support hospital operations, revenue cycle performance, and financial initiatives.
  • Use advanced Excel functionality (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, Power Query, macros, etc.) to analyze and present data in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders and teams across departments to define reporting needs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and process improvements.
  • Identify data inconsistencies and work with IT or operational staff to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Streamline reporting processes through automation and documentation.
  • Collect key performance indicators such as not limited to

- Patient stats on OP, IP and Other based on departments, Lab, radiology, etc
- Bed occupancy rate, ALOS, readmission rate
- Patient throughput and waiting times
- Theatre utilization, diagnostic turnaround time
- Clinical outcome metrics (infection rates, adverse events)
- cost per case, and collection efficiency

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Hospital Administration, Business, Finance or a related field (or equivalent work experience) or Professional Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare data analysis, reporting, or revenue cycle operations in the healthcare field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large data sets from multiple sources.
  • Experience working with hospital Information systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or any reputable HIS) preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of SQL or relational databases (preferred).

Key Competencies:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Background:

  • Previous experience in hospital revenue cycle, billing, coding, or patient financial services.
  • Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, payer contracts, and performance metrics.
