EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE IN HOSPITAL OT/ICU/WARDS/LAB/CATHLAB AREAS FOR CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE AND FUMIGATION, THOSE CANDIDATES WILL BE GIVEN A BETTER START.
Further, the candidates are required to possess the below mentioned qualities and exposure without any compromise.
- Sterile Area Maintenance & Hygiene Supervision
- Ensure 100% compliance with hospital infection control protocols in all sterile zones including OT, Cath Lab, ICUs, Labs, and Dressing Rooms.
- Monitor daily cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization schedules in coordination with Nursing and Housekeeping teams.
- Fumigation and Disinfection Management
- Plan and execute routine fumigation of Operation Theatres, Cath Lab, ICUs, and other critical areas.
- Maintain detailed records of fumigation cycles, chemical usage, and validation reports for audit and NABH compliance.
- Chemical and Material Knowledge
- Possess thorough knowledge of cleaning and disinfectant chemicals (Bacillocid, Virkon, Lysol, etc.) and their proper dilution ratios.
- Train housekeeping staff on safe handling, storage, and usage of all chemicals.
- Linen and Laundry Management
- Oversee end-to-end linen management — usage tracking, collection, washing, sterilization, distribution, and condemnation.
- Ensure adequate stock of clean linen in all patient care areas, and timely replenishment through in-house or outsourced laundry services.
- Housekeeping and Sanitation Oversight
- Supervise manpower deployment for all hospital zones including OPD, wards, administrative areas, and external premises.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness, odour-free environment, and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Vendor Coordination and Contract Management
- Liaise with facility management vendors for housekeeping, pest control, laundry, and waste disposal services.
- Ensure vendors meet performance benchmarks, timely renewals, and adherence to hospital quality norms.
- Waste Management and Environmental Safety
- Oversee biomedical waste segregation, storage, and disposal in compliance with statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with the Infection Control Committee to ensure zero non-conformities in audits.
- Inventory Control and Cost Optimization
- Maintain updated inventory of cleaning materials, chemicals, tools, and consumables.
- Ensure economical usage, timely procurement, and prevention of wastage or pilferage.
- Team Supervision and Training
- Lead, train, and motivate housekeeping and support staff to maintain discipline, punctuality, and performance.
- Conduct regular refresher training on infection control, personal hygiene, and patient area etiquette.
- Audit and Reporting Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on facility maintenance, cleaning audits, and fumigation schedules.
- Participate in NABH/internal audits and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as required.
