Job Overview:

Hostel Management:

Oversee the overall operations of the hostel including accommodation, maintenance, and safety of students.

Manage student admissions, room allocations, and hostel registration processes.

Ensure that all facilities are properly maintained, including dormitories, dining areas, common rooms, and bathrooms.

Enforce hostel rules and regulations to maintain discipline and a safe living environment for students.

Supervise hostel staff, including housekeeping, security, and maintenance personnel.

Student Welfare:

Act as the primary point of contact for students residing in the hostel for any grievances, concerns, or requests.

Address student issues related to health, security, food quality, accommodation, and general well-being.

Facilitate communication between students and institution management on hostel-related matters.

Promote a sense of community and inclusion among hostel residents through events, recreational activities, and social programs.

Facility Management:

Monitor and ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of hostel premises.

Oversee the procurement and distribution of hostel supplies such as bedding, toiletries, and cleaning products.

Coordinate with external vendors for necessary services like pest control, repairs, or other maintenance work.

Manage inventory related to hostel operations (e.g., linen, kitchen supplies, cleaning materials).

Administrative Responsibilities:

Maintain detailed records of student accommodation, including registration forms, hostel fees, and maintenance logs.

Prepare and maintain hostel-related reports for senior management (e.g., occupancy rates, maintenance issues, and incident reports).

Coordinate with the finance department for fee collection, budgeting, and other financial matters related to hostel operations.

Ensure compliance with institutional policies, fire safety, and other legal regulations.

Safety and Security:

Ensure safety protocols are followed within the hostel, including fire drills, security checks, and emergency preparedness.

Supervise security personnel and ensure proper surveillance systems are in place.

Address any incidents or emergencies promptly, including medical emergencies, accidents, or safety breaches.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

Work closely with the academic, student affairs, and administrative departments to ensure the smooth functioning of hostel services.

Assist in organizing guest visits, special events, and orientations for incoming students.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or any relevant field.

Prior experience in hostel or residential management, hotel management, or student services is preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to manage a team and work under pressure.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing student concerns.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position, with availability for emergency situations after office hours.

On-site accommodation may be provided based on institutional policies.
