Hostel Warden

Job Purpose:

NJV Government Higher Secondary School invites applications for the position of Female Warden (Hostel). This is a full-time, residential role responsible for the overall supervision, welfare, and discipline of students residing in the school hostel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, strong leadership, and excellent administrative and interpersonal skills to create a safe and supportive environment for boarders.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all hostel operations, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times.
• Maintain discipline and enforce hostel rules and regulations among boarders.
• Supervise kitchen, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance staff to ensure efficient functioning.
• Monitor student attendance, room allotment, movement records, and hostel inventories.
• Address students’ personal or disciplinary issues promptly and fairly.
• Foster a caring and inclusive residential community that supports academic and personal growth.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety and security measures are followed.
• Liaise with parents, school administration, and relevant departments for smooth hostel operations.
• Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and communicate effectively with school leadership.

Required Skills and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Management).
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in hostel management or student affairs.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Compassionate, responsible, and disciplined, with the ability to manage adolescents effectively.
• Must be willing to reside within the hostel premises.
