About Us

Koko by Bakan is an upscale dining establishment located in the vibrant Coconut Grove neighborhood. We are seeking an energetic and professional Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team and create memorable first impressions for our guests.

Position Overview

The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for our guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who visit our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival

- Manage restaurant reservations through our booking system

- Coordinate seating arrangements and maintain optimal dining room flow

- Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries

- Maintain an organized and clean reception area

- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff

- Assist in maintaining waiting lists during peak hours

- Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently

Requirements

- Must be available to work flexible hours, including:

- Lunch and dinner shifts

- Weekends

- Holidays

- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)

- Spanish language proficiency is a plus

- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills

- Professional appearance and positive attitude

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

- Previous hospitality experience preferred

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand for extended periods

- Capable of moving throughout the restaurant quickly and efficiently

- May need to assist with light lifting and carrying (up to 15 lbs)
