Hotel Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will manage the hotel’s daily financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support management with accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

• Review and verify daily F&B and outlet sales reports, ensuring all revenues are accurately recorded.
• Check rate variances across reservations, OTA bookings, and travel agent contracts to ensure correct billing.
• Review and reconcile daily sales reports and night audit postings from PMS/POS systems.
• Prepare proforma invoices for corporate clients, travel agents, and groups, ensuring correct rates and contract terms.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash, and credit card deposits on a daily basis.

Monthly / Periodic Tasks:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and internal audit schedules.
• Submit monthly DTCM (Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing) and Dubai Municipality (DM) reports accurately and on time.
• Assist in monthly audits, VAT filing, and compliance reporting.

Banking & Government Tasks:

• Visit the bank regularly for deposits, cheque clearances, and related transactions.
• Handle government payments, including municipality fees, DTCM fees, VAT, and other statutory bills.

Other Duties:

• Maintain proper documentation and filing of all financial records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent qualification is an advantage).
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or F&B industry within the UAE.
• Strong working knowledge of hotel accounting systems (Opera PMS, Sun System, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Solid understanding of UAE hotel finance operations, including DTCM, DM, and VAT reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
