Hotel General Manager

Doha, Qatar

Position Title: General Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: CEO
Experience Required: Minimum 4-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry as GM or other higher managerial level.

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations, profitability, and guest satisfaction of the hotel. This includes strategic planning, staff leadership, financial management, compliance, and ensuring the highest quality standards in guest services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily hotel operations across all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Maintenance.
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through high-quality service standards and prompt issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, occupancy, and profitability.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to monitor performance and control costs.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate staff; build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Oversee compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Develop strong relationships with guests, vendors, and local business partners to enhance the hotel’s reputation.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Lead marketing initiatives and coordinate with the sales team to attract corporate and leisure clients.
  • Regularly report to the CEO on performance, opportunities, and challenges.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of proven experience in hotel management or senior supervisory role in hospitality.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on approach with ability to lead by example and motivate teams.
  • Strong understanding of customer service and guest experience.
  • Proficiency in hotel management softwares and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and make sound decisions.
