Hotel Junior Accountant

Job Summary

A Hotel Junior Accountant assists the senior accountant or finance manager in managing the hotel’s daily financial activities. The role focuses on recording transactions, preparing basic financial reports, handling invoices, and ensuring that all accounting records are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Accounting Tasks

  • Record daily financial transactions in the hotel accounting system.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping for hotel operations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements.
  • Monitor hotel revenues, including rooms, food & beverage, and other services.

2. Revenue Checking

  • Verify and reconcile daily revenue reports from the front office, restaurant, and other departments.
  • Check payments received through cash, credit cards, and online bookings.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and payment requests.
  • Maintain records of vendor payments.
  • Manage guest and corporate billing.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments.

4. Data Entry & Documentation

  • Enter financial data into Hotel’s accounting software
  • Maintain organized financial records and files.

5. Payroll Processing

  • Prepare and process employee payroll.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, and deductions.

6. Bank Reconciliation

  • Assist in reconciling bank statements with accounting records.
  • Identify and report discrepancies.

7. Support in Audits

  • Provide documents and financial data during internal or external audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in hospitality accounting or familiarity with hotel systems like Opera PMS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
