Hotel Laundry Lead

Summary: Responsible for monitoring, training, leading, and participating in the completion of laundry duties. Ensure that attendants wash, dry, and fold linens, and other laundry for the Silver Reef Casino Resort.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Physical mobility and stamina are required.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Able to follow instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
• Able to work independently.

Licensing Requirements:

• Class II Tribal Gaming License

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinates activities in the laundry department
• Trains and evaluates department personnel
• Supervise and inspect the work of laundry/ laundry attendants to ensure a high level of quality and productivity
• Monitor performance, conduct retraining as needed, alert management of potentially serious issues
• Perform all stages of linen processing, including, but not limited to, collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading (washers, dryers, and chutes), ironing, folding, storing, and delivering
• Uses equipment and chemicals following the hotel’s safety procedures
• Adheres to all health, sanitation, and safety rules and procedures
• Maintain stock levels
• Inform the supervisor of any equipment failures, supply shortages, or any other laundry and housekeeping department concerns
• Clean filters of dryers
• Perform additional laundry services, as needed

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Constantly required to use hands to finger, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to stand; walk climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Working conditions:

• Working in laundry involves near-moving mechanical parts and is exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
• Work mainly indoors.
• Works in a moderate noise level environment, increasing to loud when in the laundry.
