Lead Laundry Room Attendant
Job Purpose
The Laundry Room Lead is responsible for the overall laundry room operations. He/she is to ensure that linen, towels and equipment are cleaned and well maintained on a daily basis.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with stripping of dirty linen from the guest rooms as needed
- Sort linens for washer and remove stains from badly soiled linen
- Dispose of linen and terry properly and maintain a record of disposal that is turned in monthly.
- Operate washers/dryers properly and ensure the correct chemicals (and amounts) are being used
- Fold linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized in designated places
- Wash bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with hotel standards
- Keep laundry room and equipment neat and clean
- Assist with cleaning and up-keep of storage areas
- Ensure the correct cleaning materials and correct methods are used as indicated in the instruction booklets to ensure the Laundry equipment is kept in good working order.
- Communicate with visiting technicians; any issues with equipment or processes.
- Inventory of hotel linens, towels, chemicals and any other laundry department supplies on a monthly basis.
- Ensure all laundry attendants adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment in the Laundry room is implemented at all times.
- Provide training to new laundry personnel
- Ensure laundry carts are stocked and ready for the morning.
- Maintain a positive attitude and set an example for the laundry team to keep them motivated.
- Attend and assist with morning housekeeping huddles
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications and requirements
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting and reaching
- Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 pounds
