Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the property, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing repairs to uphold the highest standards of safety, comfort, and aesthetics. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for our guests and staff alike, driving operational excellence through diligent facilities maintenance and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of hotel systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on building infrastructure using skills in electrical work, carpentry and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently.
• Manage facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting, carpentry, plumbing fixes, and electrical upgrades to ensure property standards are met or exceeded.
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule maintenance activities, and document completed tasks.
• Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors when necessary, providing guidance on technical procedures and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations by properly using tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing and following all safety procedures during repairs or installations.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance within hospitality or residential settings.
• Proficiency in electrical systems including troubleshooting with schematics and using tools such as ohmmeters.
• Skilled in HVAC, carpentry and drywall techniques, residential painting for aesthetic improvements or repairs.
• Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members, vendors, and guests effectively.
• Familiarity with CMMS (google sheets, outlook, excel) software for work order management and documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately for efficient repairs.
