Position Title: House Manager

Reports To: Executive Director / Program Director
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary: $45,000 Annually
Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-5pm and Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (10pm-6am)
Position Summary
The House Manager is responsible for the daily operation, safety, and supervision of residents residing in LLN Sober Living homes. The House Manager promotes a structured, recovery-oriented, and supportive living environment while ensuring compliance with house rules, program expectations, and recovery residence standards.
This position serves as a role model for residents and provides oversight, support, transportation, and coordination of services to assist residents in maintaining stability, sobriety, and progress toward their recovery goals.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResident Supervision and Support
- Monitor and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
- Enforce house rules, policies, and resident agreements consistently and professionally.
- Conduct resident orientations and review program expectations.
- Provide support, encouragement, and accountability to residents in recovery.
- Assist residents with conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Conduct regular house meetings and document attendance.
- Monitor resident compliance with curfews, chores, treatment participation, and recovery activities.
- Assist with resident intake, discharge, and transition planning.
Transportation Responsibilities
- Transport residents to and from:
- Medical and behavioral health appointments
- Substance use treatment services
- Employment opportunities
- Educational or vocational programs
- Court appointments
- Probation and Parole meetings
- Recovery support meetings (AA, NA, SMART Recovery, etc.)
- Community resources and approved activities
- Maintain transportation logs and documentation.
- Ensure vehicle inspections, cleanliness, and routine maintenance requirements are completed.
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, or vehicle concerns.
Program Operations
- Conduct routine room inspections and property walkthroughs.
- Assist with random drug and alcohol screenings as required by program policies.
- Document resident progress, incidents, rule violations, and resident concerns.
- Complete incident reports and communicate significant events to leadership promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Coordinate with treatment providers, case managers, probation officers, and community partners as authorized.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision.
Facility Management
- Monitor household supplies and submit purchase requests (If applicable).
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and report safety hazards.
- Conduct emergency preparedness and safety checks.
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, supportive housing, recovery housing, case management, social services, or a related field.
- Valid Maryland Driver's License.
- Clean driving record and ability to be insured under agency vehicle insurance.
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Experience working in recovery housing or residential programs.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Peer Recovery Specialist, CPRP, CFRP, or related certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally throughout Maryland.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform routine inspections of the residence.
- Ability to transport residents safely using agency or approved vehicles.
