About Our Family:
We are a fun-loving family with 12-week-old twins and our first “baby,” a 14-year-old Black Lab. We value family time, and we're seeking a dedicated and warm House Manager and Family Assistant who will work as a mother's helper to ensure both mom's and the babies' needs are met, while also managing essential household tasks. We want someone who will be proactive, taking ownership of the house without needing to be constantly directed, allowing mom to stay hands-on with the twins while dad works from the home office.
Who We're Looking For
We need a proactive, intuitive, and supportive individual who will work as mom's right-hand assistant. This person will take direction from mom in caring for the twins but must also be able to handle household management duties without supervision. We're looking for someone who can maintain calm during hectic moments, anticipate needs, and be a reliable partner. Someone who is flexible, respectful of boundaries, and can maintain a balance between being highly available when needed and giving mom and dad their space. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a family-friendly, dynamic environment and will be comfortable participating in walks, feeding, and supporting the family's daily routines.
Ideal Traits & Skills:
- A nurturing and maternal personality
-
Ability to balance autonomy with supporting a family's needs
-
Highly organized, efficient, and reliable
-
Comfortable and capable of managing household tasks while caring for babies
-
Genuinely loves dogs and enjoys engaging with them
-
Enjoys a hands-on role, with the ability to support both baby care and household tasks
-
Proactive with cooking, cleaning, and managing the day-to-day tasks of a busy household
-
Knowledgeable in infant care and parenting best practices; offers guidance when helpful while respecting and aligning with the family's approach
Key Responsibilities:
This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done – not checking all the boxes.
Weekly Priorities:
Family Support (70% of role)
- Assist mom with tandem nursing prep and station setup, providing extra hands during breast/bottle feedings and pumping sessions
-
Provide baby care at mom's direction (diapering, soothing, burping, watching them)
-
Manage household tasks such as laundry, dishes, and cooking, ensuring dad can focus on quality family time during work breaks
-
Proactively support mom in maintaining a peaceful, calm household during the late afternoon – especially the Witching Hour 4 PM – 7 PM
-
Pup Partner: provide affection and attention to the family dog
-
Join family walks with the dog and twins (pram & pup chariot)
Household Management (30% of role)
- Prepare simple, organic meals for the parents daily, following current dietary restrictions of no dairy, soy, bell peppers or tomatoes
-
Cook chicken and sweet potato for dog's meals
-
Handle baby-related chores: baby laundry, sterilizing bottles and pump parts, and diaper station maintenance
-
Keep kitchen and common areas clean and organized (clean-as-you-go approach)
-
Ensure the home is organized and clutter-free, particularly during evening transitions
-
Check with mom before feeding or walking the dog, offering support when needed
Bonus: Evening Prep & Date Night Potential
- Set up for the night nanny before finishing the day at 7:00 PM (prepping bottles, feeding areas, organizing nursery)
-
Potential to hold down the fort for a local date night once a rhythm is established
Those core daily and weekly responsibilities come first, but once handled, we welcome support in other areas based on time, energy, and household needs that week, including:
