Housekeeping Supervisor

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards are maintained in guest rooms and public areas as per hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily cleaning of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas.
  • Allocate daily tasks and room assignments to housekeeping attendants.
  • Inspect cleaned rooms to ensure they meet hotel quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Monitor room status updates and coordinate with Front Office.
  • Report maintenance issues to Engineering department promptly.
  • Train and guide housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures and service standards.
  • Maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
  • Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping efficiently.
  • Ensure lost and found procedures are properly followed.
  • Assist in preparing duty rosters and staff schedules.
  • Support sustainability practices (linen reuse programs, waste management, etc.) — especially important in environmentally responsible hotels.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic computer knowledge
