Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processes, oversee human resources functions, and ensure compliance with financial and HR regulations. Your expertise will help streamline payroll operations, support employee benefits administration, and maintain accurate financial records to support our company's growth.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately using systems such as Paychex, ensuring timely payments for all employees and interns.
- Manage benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data integrity and update employee records regularly.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices and perform account reconciliation tasks.
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll and benefits transactions with attention to detail in double entry bookkeeping.
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements and tax filings related to payroll and employment taxes.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Conduct data entry with precision for payroll processing, employee records, and financial transactions.
- Collaborate with the finance team on analysis of payroll data, benefits costs, and other financial concepts.
Experience
- Proven experience working with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex or Kronos.
- Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, benefits administration, and HRIS platforms.
- Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks or similar tools used for bookkeeping and general ledger management.
- Understanding of financial concepts such as account reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and governmental accounting standards.
- Experience in data entry, analysis skills related to payroll data processing, and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently along with double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in technical accounting tasks related to human resources and payroll functions.
