HR Assistant II – Primarily provides administrative support to the Human Resources
department, handling tasks like maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment, onboarding new hires, managing payroll processes, coordinating employee benefits, and generally supporting HR leadership in day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the department by managing paperwork, scheduling meetings, and addressing employee inquiries.
Hours: 8am to 5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (potential to develop into a full-time position).
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Administrative Support
o Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
o Assist with processing, filing, scanning, and organizing HR documents.
o Schedule meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
o Assist with payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee time tracking and documentation.
o Help translate during meetings, presentations, trainings, etc., and assist with translating text for varying company documents or announcements.
· Recruitment & Onboarding
o Assist with posting job openings on various platforms and screening resumes.
o Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting life cycle.
o Create, maintain and update interview documents as needed.
o Support new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
· Employee Relations
o Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
o Help distribute HR communications and updates.
o Assist with performance reviews, training coordination and disciplinary action.
o Help enforce company policies while fostering a safe (OSHA) and positive work environment.
o Assist with employee offboarding.
· Benefits & Compliance
o Assist with benefits enrollment and documentation.
o Educate employees about benefits programs and respond to inquiries.
o Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies and labor laws.
· HR Projects
o Support HR initiatives such as employee engagement activities, wellness programs, and internal events.
o Assist with volunteer programs.
· Perform Other Duties as Assigned by Company & Team Leadership.
Job Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
· If not enrolled or have received formal education, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR role is required.
· Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (speak, read and write) – strong translating/interpreting skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, multitasking abilities and time management skills.
