Job Overview:

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Houston, TX. This newly created role will play a vital part in our HR organization's growth and transformation, positively impacting business unit performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer various aspects of the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, staffing, employment administration, associate relations, leave administration, benefits administration, and training.
  • Manage the recruitment process to ensure compliance and fulfill talent needs, including overseeing vendor/staffing agency relationships.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and educate new hires on company policies and procedures.
  • Advise management and associates on state and federal regulations, company policies, HR practices, and employment issues.
  • Provide support to client groups on associate relations matters, including investigations and resolution strategies.
  • Escalate employee relations matters to senior HR leadership as necessary to ensure consistency and mitigate legal risks.
  • Perform additional duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments.
  • Proficiency in developing business requirements and processes.
  • 3+ years of employee relations experience.
  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding.
  • Knowledge of leave administration and processing.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification.
  • HRIS experience, preferably in a Ceridian environment.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including data manipulation, charts/graphs, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and support to client groups, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in managing employee relations matters, including investigations and resolution strategies.
  • Sound understanding of state and federal regulations, company policies, and HR practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Capacity to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Commitment to driving change and contributing to the growth and transformation of the HR organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.
