We have an exciting opportunity for a high-energy HR Analyst to join our team in the Livonia, MI! This position requires outstanding customer service skills, the ability to excel within a dynamic team environment as well as independently, and understanding of high volume, fast-paced business.
Performs and administers all Personnel Records Files within compliance of federal and state licensing requirements. Performs and HR functions which includes, but not limited to: payroll, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, benefits administration, employee development and training, employee relations, unemployment, policies and procedures, recruitment, new hire orientation, and all employee records under the direction of the Agency Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
- (2) years general experience preferred in the HR field.
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology or other related field preferred.
- Conflict resolution and employee mediation and problem solving skills a must.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment law.
- Excellent communication skills required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains Personnel records for staff and contractors according to compliance regulations and agency policies.
2. Coordinates employee disciplinary meetings and counseling sessions for performance-related infractions.
a) Investigates employee complaints, provides counseling and training to employees regarding company policies and procedures.
b) Provides understanding and ensures legal compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
c) Handles all compliance tracking and monitoring.
3. Engages in full cycle recruiting and staffing.
a) Interviews all candidates for administrative positions.
b) Conducts bi-weekly meeting with local managers to review hiring needs.
c) Manages posting of job openings.
d) Attends career fairs and on campus interviewing events.
e) Conducts background and reference checks.
f) Confers with senior leadership to identify personnel needs and workforce planning.
g) Maintains pool of candidates for administrative positions for all counties that company services.
h) Conducts New Hire Orientation on an as-needed basis for administrative staff.
i) Ensures completion of all required new hire documents and submit to the Corporate office for processing.
4. Oversight of unemployment claims and legal issues.
a) Actively reviews and responds to unemployment claims.
b) Attends employment hearings when applicable.
d) Follows up on unemployment issues as necessary.
e) Coordinates with HR Manager on legal issues.
5. Participates in professional growth and development.
a) Participates in regular educational programs related to position.
