As an HR People Team Compliance Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting critical compliance initiatives that directly impact Maverik’s workforce across multiple states.
You’ll work closely with the ADA & Compliance function within People Support to contribute to high-impact projects focused on labor law compliance, audits, and workplace accommodations. This internship combines structured project ownership with real-world exposure to HR compliance operations.
Key Project You’ll Support:ADA Compliance & Labor Audit Initiative-
Lead the end-to-end completion of Maverik’s annual Labor Poster Audit, ensuring 100% compliance across locations
Gather, organize, and analyze data related to meal and rest break penalties to identify trends and risk areas
Support compliance audits and documentation processes related to ADA accommodations and labor requirements
Research upcoming labor law changes (2027) and summarize potential impacts to the business -
The intern will present findings, insights, and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
Additional Hands-On Exposure:-
Exposure to ADA compliance processes and workplace accommodation practices

Qualifications:-
Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Utah or Iowa, as this is an on-site opportunity

A full-time college student who has completed their sophomore year by June 2026

Currently enrolled at an accredited university

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Strong attention to detail, especially with documentation and compliance-related materials

Ability to analyze information and identify discrepancies or gaps

Interest in Human Resources, Compliance, Business, or related field
Preferred:-
Basic understanding of HR compliance or labor laws
