Acting as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, or "venting" sessions.

Mediating conflicts and conducting internal investigations when necessary.

Organizing team-building events and engagement initiatives to keep morale high.
2. Compliance & Policy Management-
Ensuring the company stays on the right side of labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).

Maintaining and updating the Employee Handbook to reflect current regulations and company culture.

Managing personnel records and ensuring data privacy.
3. Benefits & Compensation-
Assisting with the administration of health insurance, 401(k) plans, and leave requests.

Participating in salary benchmarking to ensure the company remains competitive.

Processing (or liaising with) payroll to ensure everyone gets paid accurately and on time.
Required Skills & QualificationsThe Generalist's Reality: You are often the bridge between the leadership's strategic goals and the employees' day-to-day reality. It requires a thick skin, a warm heart, and an incredibly organized calendar.
Education & Certifications-
Bachelor's Degree: Usually in HR, Business Administration, or Psychology.

Certifications: While not always required, having a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) is a massive gold star on a resume.
