HR Generalist

Summary: As a Human Resources Generalist with InAlliance, you will support the daily operations of the Human Resources department with a primary focus on recruitment, new employee orientation, and workplace health and safety initiatives. This role manages the recruitment lifecycle, coordinates onboarding activities, and supports the organization’s safety programs, including leading the agency’s Safety Committee.

The HR Generalist also assists with administrative coordination related to workers’ compensation, leave of absence processes, and routine employee relations support. Complex employee relations matters, investigations, and strategic HR initiatives are handled in partnership with the HR Director and HR Business Partner.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees and supervisors across the organization.

Essential Functions\*:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, applicant screening, interview coordination, and pre-employment processes such as background and reference checks.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, coordinate recruitment timelines, and support effective hiring decisions.
  • Lead new hire orientation and coordinate onboarding activities, ensuring completion of required documentation and facilitating a positive onboarding experience.
  • Maintain and update onboarding and orientation materials to ensure alignment with organizational policies and applicable employment practices.
  • Coordinate the agency Safety Committee by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting discussions, and tracking safety-related action items.
  • Support workplace health and safety compliance by assisting with incident documentation, maintaining safety records, and promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Support the administration of workers’ compensation and employee leave processes, including documentation tracking, employee communication, and coordination with supervisors, HR leadership, and insurance representatives.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on routine employee relations matters such as communication, workplace expectations, and policy interpretation, escalating complex issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records within HR systems, support HR programs and initiatives, and ensure proper documentation in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Required Education and Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and procedures; federal, state, and local employment laws required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources
  • Experience organizing workload independently and setting priorities, adapting to changing work priorities and performing multiple unrelated tasks, including working independently and in a team environment.
  • Hands-on experience in HRIS administration required, Paycom experience highly desired.
  • Basic command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Experience with or knowledge of service for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
