HR Generalist

Position Summary


The organization is seeking an experienced and dependable HR Generalist to support core human resources functions across multiple affiliated companies. This role requires a solid HR foundation and hands-on experience with payroll coordination, employee relations, HR compliance, leave administration, onboarding, HRIS systems, and general day-to-day people operations. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, knowledgeable, and strong with follow-through.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, new hire documentation, and HR records management
  • Coordinate payroll-related processes, timekeeping reviews, PTO tracking, and employee data accuracy
  • Assist with HR compliance, handbook updates, policy administration, and employee communications
  • Support administration of leaves of absence, FMLA/CFRA, workers’ compensation, and related documentation
  • Maintain HRIS data and support reporting, audits, and personnel file organization
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, scheduling, candidate communications, and resume/CV review support
  • Help address employee questions related to benefits, policies, attendance, and HR procedures
  • Support performance documentation, coaching processes, and general employee relations matters
  • Stay current on California employment laws and HR compliance practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • HR experience in a coordinator or generalist role required
  • Knowledge of payroll coordination, HR compliance, leave administration, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Familiarity with California HR laws and regulations strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, discretion, and attention to detail

Preferred Background

  • Experience working in multi-entity or fast-paced organizations preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems, employee handbooks, and compliance documentation
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification is a plus
