Job Purpose:
The HR Government Relations Officer (GRO) is responsible for managing and facilitating all government-related processes and compliance requirements for the company’s employees. The role ensures smooth communication with government authorities, timely processing of employee-related legal documentation, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Government Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant government bodies, including Labor Office, Immigration, Social Security, Tax Authorities, and other ministries.
- Handle all visa-related processes (new visas, renewals, cancellations, transfers, exit/re-entry permits, Iqama processing – if in KSA or local equivalent).
- Process employee registration, updates, and terminations with social security and other regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, social insurance, and health regulations.
- Monitor and update the company on new government regulations, policies, and procedures that may affect employees or operations.
- Represent the company in official government meetings when required.
HR Support:
- Support HR department in onboarding new employees by coordinating all government documentation and legal formalities.
- Assist employees with government-related queries and provide guidance on required documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records related to legal documents, visas, work permits, and other government approvals.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely processing of government-related requirements for employees and operations.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare, submit, and track all official letters and applications to government bodies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Manage company licenses, certificates, and other legal documents required by government authorities.
- Ensure timely renewals of all official documents to avoid penalties or delays.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in a similar role (Government Relations / HR Officer).
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws, visa processes, and government regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in [local language] and English.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with government authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driving license (if required for government visits).
