About Us
Hylio is a high-growth AgTech leader based in Richmond, TX, dedicated to revolutionizing the agricultural industry through the design, fabrication, and deployment of heavy-lift unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our mission is to provide farmers with enterprise-grade drone technology that increases swath efficiency and simplifies precision application. As we scale our manufacturing lines and expand our fleet, we are seeking a strategic HR leader to manage our most valuable asset: our people.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to spearhead our human capital strategy. This is not a standard corporate HR role; you will be operating at the intersection of hardware manufacturing and aerospace technology. You will manage full-cycle talent acquisition for specialized technical roles, new employee onboarding and nontechnical training, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a culture of safety and precision that matches our engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Talent Acquisition: Lead the recruitment strategy for high-skill roles, including aerospace engineers, fabrication technicians, and technical support staff. Build a pipeline of candidates familiar with hardware assembly and industrial production.
- Employee Onboarding: Manage onboarding of new employees, including initial nontechnical training, as well as continued nontechnical training and follow up meetings
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure company-wide adherence to Texas labor laws and federal regulations. Work closely with the COO to manage workplace safety protocols (OSHA) specific to hardware fabrication and lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery handling.
- Payroll & Workforce Management: Oversee all payroll functions, time-tracking, bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits administration using Homebase & Navigator. Manage the intersection of labor costs with our production scaling goals.
- Certification & Training Tracking: Maintain records for specialized employee certifications, including FAA Part 107 licensing and internal safety standards.
- Performance & Development: Implement performance review cycles tailored to technical output, fabrication quality standards, and operational efficiency.
- Employee Relations & Culture: Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, fostering a collaborative environment that bridges the gap between our office, fabrication floor, and flight-testing teams.
Skills and Qualifications
- HR Experience: Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, specifically within a manufacturing, hardware, or industrial production environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience managing payroll, scheduling, and onboarding (within Homebase preferred).
- Strategic Communication: Ability to translate operational needs into HR policies. You must be comfortable communicating with both fabrication technicians and executive leadership.
- Operational Mindset: This is an onsite position at our Richmond, TX location. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where hardware is built and tested daily.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly preferred.
Benefits
- Life: We provide life insurance at no cost to you, with the option to add supplemental Life and AD&D coverage.
- PTO: Competitive PTO plan and paid holidays (accrual begins after 90 days).
- Consistent Schedule: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday. No weekends required.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
If you are a proactive leader ready to manage the workforce behind the next generation of agricultural aviation, we invite you to apply. Join us in Richmond and help Hylio scale to new heights.
