About the role

Develop and interpret HR policies for Qatar Airways Group including outstations, in accordance with Qatar Airways strategy, rules and regulations as well as local operating legislative framework. Coordinate with all concerned organizational units in order to propose and manage policy implementation, drive improvements to ensure the achievement of QR goals through effective people policies and management practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Formulate, review, communicate, apply, promote and monitor corporate HR policies and procedures on all Human Resources matters.
  • Contribute in designing new policies based on best practice & according to existing framework or guidelines.
  • Ensure the on-line availability of HR Policies in Group’s document management system, Aero-Docs.
  • Ensure that changes in policies and procedures are communicated on a timely basis to the users/staff.
  • Provide guidance to all staff and managers on interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures within HR and across Qatar Airways Group.
  • Support the business in the development of policies where needed.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes, with a view to assess potential impact on HR policies and provide timely updates on existing policies.
  • Work with HRBPs and outstations legal teams to ensure that existing policies are appropriate and covers all local legislative requirements.
  • Ensure outstations policies are recorded and tracked as they evolve.
  • Design and develop tools to assist management in developing and interpreting policies and to guide managers through policy and planning decisions.
  • Coordinates with outstation assigned parties, to collect and analyse all relevant legislation information, ensuring compliance with exiting HR policies.
  • Create and develop standard forms and templates for the consistent and comprehensive capture and storage of policy information needed to meet the business/audit requirements.
  • Maintain Aero-Docs to capture and ensure approved changes are documented recorded and are auditable.
  • Monitor and respond to queries in the HR Policies mailbox in MS Outlook.
  • Project manage the implementation and review of HR policies.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to solve issues, exchange ideas and get their buy-in.
  • Participate in workgroups ensuring development and issuance of Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge and in depth understanding of practical issues in developing policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience of demonstrating flexibility to meet the changing demands of the business.
  • Proven ability in seeking and applying knowledge, information and best practices.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to defined time scales and budget.
  • Knowledge of labor law and its application.
  • Skill in understanding and interpreting complex, technical and legal materials related to HR Management.
  • Ability to provide policy-related consultation and guidance on policy related matters.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and provide viable recommendations for ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Research and policy writing skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication skills in English and corporate correspondence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational ability to be able to set priorities and handle multiple instructions
