HR Specialist

We have an immediate need for an HR Specialist to work in Troy. This role will require that the HR Specialist has Paylocity experience. Candidates without Paylocity will not be considered.

The Human Resources Specialist supports the full employee lifecycle by administering onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role serves as a key operational partner to managers, Payroll, IT, Global HR, and external vendors, maintaining accurate HRIS data, safeguarding confidential information, and delivering high-quality employee experience. The HR Specialist operates as a primary point of contact for employee and contractor inquiries and provides in-person HR support across multiple office locations.

  • Administers and manages the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Serves as a key point of contact for employees, managers, Payroll, IT, and Global HR, maintaining accurate HRIS data across Paylocity and SuccessFactors while safeguarding confidential information.
  • Oversees background checks, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, payroll change notifications, contractor administration, intern/Co-Op lifecycle management, and international assignment coordination. Facilitates new hire orientation, manages employment documentation and records retention, supports ISO audits, and ensures proper labor law postings.
  • Provides operational HR support including processing intranet forms, maintaining personnel files, administering training records, coordinating IT access and asset recovery, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and advising managers on HR processes to ensure timely, compliant execution of workforce transactions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-4 years of HR administrative or specialist experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity, SAP, SuccessFactors preferred).
  • Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, FMLA, ESTA, and general employment compliance.
  • Knowledge with payroll working in Paylocity, Paycom or Paycor (preferred).

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
