A leading distribution company located near Downtown, Houston, TX is seeking a highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented Leave of Absence HR Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent direct hire opportunity with competitive compensation and benefits and a great work culture! Starting compensation $70,000 - $78,000 depending on experience.



Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience managing FMLA and LOA programs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state leave laws.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the FMLA and LOA programs end-to-end across all three companies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws (Florida and Ohio).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate leave records and documentation in Paylocity HRIS .
  • Generate reports and analyze leave data using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to improve leave processes and communication.
  • Provide secondary support to the onboarding process as needed.
