Position Objective:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking HSE Engineer who is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, training personnel, monitoring site activities, and promoting a culture of safety awareness across all levels of the project.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS).
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations and company standards.
  • Assist in preparing the project-specific HSE plan, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct daily inspections of the site to identify unsafe acts, conditions, and environmental hazards.
  • Supervise work activities to ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and safety procedures.
  • Lead or assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain records of near-misses, accidents, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in emergency drills and ensure readiness of emergency response plans and equipment.
  • Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and HSE awareness sessions.
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental protection measures on site.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and project environmental objectives.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation including inspection checklists, audit reports, and incident logs.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly HSE performance reports to management and clients.
  • Ensure safety signage, PPE compliance, and documentation are up to date and visible.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or related field).
  • Diploma/Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of local HSE laws, construction safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HSE procedures and conducting audits.
