HSE Engineer

Job description:

• Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international HSE laws and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Prepare and implement HSE plans, procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct HSE induction, awareness, and refresher training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Carry out regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification exercises.
• Perform risk assessments and develop job safety analyses (JSA) and method statements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and suggest corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, emissions, and chemical handling.
• Ensure the availability and proper use of PPE and other safety equipment on site.
• Maintain all HSE documentation and prepare monthly safety performance reports.
• Liaise with project management and regulatory bodies regarding safety concerns.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 2-4 years HSE experience in construction or oil & gas environments.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA 30-Hour are mandatory.
• Familiarity with international HSE standards and practices.
• Strong knowledge of construction/oil & gas work processes, equipment, and site hazards.
