HSE Engineer

Position: HSE Engineer

Location: Dubai

Nationality: Any Nationality

Roles and Responsibilities:

✔ Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
✔ Identify hazards in:

• Elevator shaft work (fall hazards)
• Electrical panels (shock risk)
• Moving machinery (crushing risk)
• Lifting operations (load failure risk)
• Confined spaces (oxygen deficiency)

✔ Develop control measures
✔ Approve Method Statements before work starts

B. Site Safety Supervision

✔ Conduct daily site inspections
✔ Ensure proper barricading of open shafts
✔ Monitor work at height compliance
✔ Ensure safe scaffolding and ladders
✔ Stop unsafe work immediately

C. Permit-to-Work System

HSE Engineer controls or supervises permits for:

• Work at height
• Electrical isolation
• Confined space entry (elevator pit)
• Hot work (welding/brackets installation)
• Lifting operations

D. Training & Awareness

✔ Conduct toolbox talks
✔ Provide safety induction for new workers
✔ Ensure technicians are certified
✔ Conduct emergency response drills
✔ Promote safety culture

E. Incident Investigation

✔ Investigate accidents & near misses
✔ Identify root cause
✔ Implement corrective actions
✔ Submit reports to management/client

F. PPE Compliance

Ensure proper use of:

• Safety helmet
• Full body harness (shaft work)
• Insulated gloves (electrical tasks)
• Safety shoes
• Eye & face protection

G. Emergency Preparedness

✔ Develop rescue plans for shaft incidents
✔ Ensure first aid kits availability
✔ Coordinate with emergency services
✔ Conduct mock drills

H. Environmental Responsibilities

✔ Monitor disposal of oil & lubricants
✔ Manage waste segregation
✔ Prevent contamination in machine rooms
✔ Control noise & dust during installation

Minimum Requirement

Experience in elevator industry minimum 5 years experience. ( UAE experience is must & Driving license is mandatory )
