Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Educational Requirements:
- BSc in Engineering or Diploma in Health & Safety.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent certification).
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in Environment, Health, and Safety within building operations, construction, or a related industry.
- Experience in Health & Safety risk assessments, fire safety management, and implementing control measures.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Good knowledge of local health and safety regulations, safety control measures, and fire safety management.
- Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
- Ability to conduct formal safety risk assessments and prepare detailed reports.
- Technical Skills:
- Computer literacy: Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Specialized training and certifications related to Health & Safety (e.g., HAZWOPER, Fire Safety, First Aid).
- Interpersonal & Leadership Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities to manage teams and direct safety protocols.
- Decision-making and analytical thinking skills for addressing and resolving safety issues on-site.

- Testing & Auditing:
- Experience in various testing techniques, quality audits, and producing project quality plans.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Health Promotion:
- Promote a safe and healthy working environment across sites, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Work towards achieving a target of 1,000,000 injury-free man-hours as part of the continuous improvement effort.
- Inspections & Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and advise on corrective actions to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Carry out regular HSE inspections, highlighting safety violations, and recommending corrective solutions.
- Training & Awareness:
- Provide training and consultation on safety measures to staff and contractors.
- Implement safety systems through consistent training, consultation, and supervision.
- Accident Investigation:
- Investigate any accidents or dangerous occurrences, preparing reports with corrective actions and recommendations.
- Participate in accident investigations to identify root causes and ensure safety measures are implemented to prevent future incidents.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and international standards.
- Review and ensure that the site’s housekeeping and safety practices comply with required standards.
- Prepare Monthly Safety Reports and ensure that all necessary documentation is up to date and accessible.
- Emergency Systems & Risk Management:
- Liaise with relevant internal and external agencies to ensure the proper maintenance of emergency systems.
- Develop risk assessments and safe work method statements for the workplace.
- Leadership & Reporting:
- Conduct regular site inspections and discuss findings with the Project Director.
- Ensure that the team adheres to safety policies and procedures.
- Report any violations or concerns to management and recommend necessary improvements.
