Job Purpose

The Country HSE Manager is responsible for the implementation of OEPS across facilities, product lines, manufacturing, engineering, and product development groups within the geographical area. The country HSE Manager is the senior-most HSE figure within the country, with all other Weatherford HSE personnel reporting up through this person, either directly or functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company’s Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices and complies with the Company’s Rules to Live By
  • Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk
  • Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations
  • Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises

Skills

  • Good presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to communicate with large groups of people
  • Intermediate skills at using Microsoft Office suite including Project Manager
  • Critical thinking/reasoning ability
  • Ability to collaborate with others and have good team building skills
  • Comfortable presenting at local or international HSE conferences
  • Detail-oriented and experienced in reviewing and summarizing comprehensive technical documents
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering or related field from an accredited university
  • 7-10 years’ experience as an environmental professional in either manufacturing or oil and gas companies
  • Multi-sector experience in environmental management issues
  • Local or international experience with an international / Global company
  • Experience to maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications
  • Experience leading HSE incident investigations
  • Significant experience in a wide range of environmental issues including wastewater treatment, spill response, contaminated land evaluation and remediation, energy conservation and reduction
  • Experience in developing and implementing reduction plans for energy, water and waste
  • Willing to learn environmental and safety regulations in various countries
  • Knowledge of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I standards, understanding of core business and legal concepts of business transactions, and continued interest in working on transactions
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
  • Preference for sustainability program development experience
  • Leading environmental compliance, including EMS, waste management, ESG data, spill prevention, etc.
  • Experience in developing and providing training courses and programs
  • Experience in different forms of auditing - compliance, EMS and improvement (best practice)
  • Second language (one of the five core WFRD languages)
