HSE OFFICER

Job Title: HSE Officer

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Location: Abu Dhabi(UAE)

Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Officer with strong site safety supervision and documentation skills to join our team immediately. The role involves ensuring full compliance with HSE standards across all site activities, maintaining accurate records and reports, and enforcing a safe working environment. The ideal candidate must hold NEBOSH IGC and other relevant HSE certifications and hands-on experience in field implementation and documentation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines at the project site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain HSE documentation such as incident reports, risk assessments, safety checklists and forms, method statements, and SDS records.
  • Ensure proper documentation of toolbox talks, inductions, and training attendance.
  • Monitor the use of PPE and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses; follow up with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with project and safety teams for daily briefings and compliance updates.
  • Support in obtaining and renewing necessary HSE permits and liaise with local authorities (e.g., Civil Defence, Municipality).
  • Promote a strong safety culture through active engagement with site staff and subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper documentation for audits, inspections, and certifications.
  • Develop and manage HSE training programs.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or Engineering.

Mandatory requirements:

  • NEBOSH IGC (Essential)
  • IOSH / OSHAD / First Aid / Fire Safety (Additional certifications preferred)
  • Valid UAE driving license.

Experience: Minimum 1-4 years in a similar role in UAE with both site supervision and HSE documentation responsibility.Technical Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of local HSE regulations and international standards.
  • Proficient in preparing and maintaining HSE records and reports.
  • Familiar with risk assessments, method statements, incident investigations, and permit-to-work systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Availability: Immediate joiner preferred.
  • Proficient in English language.

Preferred:

Previous experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial project sites in the UAE or GCC.
